fraud alert

I am very impressed with Discover card. We bought a new car on Saturday. (Yeah!!! It was a 2008 Pre-Owned Camry SE, Silver, 16000 miles. We traded in Bob's car)
Anyway....we finished up around 7:00pm. We charged some of it in order to get bonus points. Well I got a phone call at 8:00 on my cell phone from Discover card Fraud alert. They were calling to check on a 'large amount' recently charged on our card. Pretty impressive that there is some computer software watching every purchase and sending an alert when something doesn't match my normal purchasing pattern. On second hand....Kinda scary that there is a computer system that knows when my spending pattern is off......Either way....Don't steal my card and spend a lot of money on it.

that happened to me when i purchased my digital camera back in 2004. Upon arriving home from Indy, there was a message stating that there was some risky purchases out of the norm and wanted to check to make sure i was purchasing the said camera.

Congrats on becoming a second camry owner right?

Hmmm, Discover didn't check us at all when we bought our car, and we split the whole price between 2 cards, apparently you can't do that anymore. Discover never called to find out why we were maxing out the cards..... OH well
