I don't know when it happened, but when did 'they' change it from Trash Bin to Recycle bin on your computer desk top? I mean...come on......when you put a file in there you don't recycle it. You get rid of it. But of course the green thing to say is Recycle.
Bet you never really thought about it, huh?

You know, on some level "recycling" is a more apt description of what is going on behind the scenes. The bits that were used to hold the file you are removing are set as "free" so that other (new or growing) files can use them. Nothing is actually deleted - the bits are just marked as "unused".
